Finding Confidence Through Music: Teacher Spotlight – Mrs. Ebingha

There is something powerful about a classroom where every student feels like they belong.
For Mrs. Ebingha, music is more than a subject — it’s a bridge to confidence, leadership, and connection.
“Music gives students a way to express who they are,” she shares. “I’ve seen shy students find their voice, their people, and a sense of belonging, while outgoing students find purpose, leadership, and a place to shine. I’m so thankful to be part of something that allows me to change lives the way music once changed mine.”
Her favorite part of teaching? Watching transformation happen in real time.
“My favorite thing about teaching music is watching shy students find confidence and community through the power of music.”
But what makes her especially proud isn’t just the performances — it’s the unity.
“A moment that makes me feel proud is watching my students come together through music, supporting and encouraging one another.”
In a world where students often struggle to find their place, Mrs. Ebingha creates a space where they are seen, heard, and valued.
This is what education looks like at its best.
At Oklahoma Citizens for Education, we believe that every step of the way, an educator is there helping shape who we become. Mrs. Ebingha is living proof of that truth.
Congratulations on being named Teacher of the Month. Your impact is lasting — and your students are better because of you. Finding Confidence Through Music.
