REAL CHANGE HAPPENS

Dear Friends of Education,

Every great wave begins with a ripple. At Oklahoma Citizens for Education (OCE), we believe that small actions-sharing a message, supporting a teacher, showing up for schools-create the foundation for lasting change. This month, we're seeing ripples turn into waves, and it's all thanks to you. Speaking of the ripple... we witnessed it in full effect at Douglass High School during ACT PREP SATURDAYS-where an entire community came together for one mission: to pour into students and help them succeed. What unfolded was more than just tutoring. It was a movement.

MORE THAN JUST A TEST PREP

Over 30 students. 13 educators. Numerous volunteers. One goal: support students preparing for the ACT. From hands-on help to motivational words of affirmation, games, and snacks-every piece added up. Incentive-based activities and game-style learning transformed testing anxiety into engagement and energy. Students felt seen, supported, and empowered.

EMPOWERING MINDS

We witnessed community in motion. We saw students rising, educators pouring their hearts into work, and school culture build on resilience, purpose, and pride. This initiative proved one powerful truth:

The OCE team had the absolute joy of serving up over 250 pancakes, a delicious granola & yogurt parfait bar, and-most importantly-positivity and warm smiles to the incredible staff at Orvis Risner Elementary in Edmond!

Robyn Hayes is a caring, kind, and encouraging school counselor that proudly serves the Orvis Risner community.
