⭐️Teacher Spotlight⭐️

Building Confidence Through Reading: Teacher Spotlight – Mrs. Roberts

For Mrs. Roberts, teaching is about more than helping students learn to read — it’s about helping them believe in themselves.

As a K–5 Reading Specialist with eight years of experience, she spends her days working closely with students as they develop the skills and confidence that will shape their entire academic journey.

“I became a teacher because I love working with kids and helping them believe in themselves as they learn new things.”

That belief is something she sees grow every day in her classroom.

“My favorite part about teaching is building relationships with students and seeing their confidence grow.”

One of the moments that stands out most in her career happened outside of a scheduled lesson.

“A student I had been working with came down to my room outside of our normal group just to show me he could now read a passage from class. Seeing his excitement and how proud he was to do it on his own was a good reminder that what we do matters.”

Moments like these remind us why educators are so essential. Every breakthrough — every new word read with confidence — is a step toward a brighter future.

Mrs. Roberts also reminds us that teaching is a profession full of variety and surprise.

“No two days look the same, and that’s a part of what makes it both challenging and fun.”

At Oklahoma Citizens for Education, we believe that every student deserves teachers who encourage, support, and celebrate their progress. Mrs. Roberts is doing exactly that every day.

Congratulations on being recognized as Teacher of the Month.
