What is 'The Pulse Survey'?
The Pulse Survey is a bi-annual statewide survey capturing the real experiences of Oklahoma Educators. Our goal is focused on elevating teachers voices.
Why It Matters?
Every great policy starts with listening. The Pulse of Oklahoma gives teachers a chance to share honest, anonymous feedback about what’s really happening in the classroom. From morale to workload to support, this data helps Oklahoma Citizens for Education (OCE) advocate for policies that truly reflect what educators need to succeed.

How It Works
Complete a 5-10 min survey
The Pulse Survey is completely confidential. Teachers statewide participate twice a year—once in fall, once in spring.
OCE Analyzes the Data
We review patterns, challenges, and trends across Oklahoma schools.
Insights Guide Real Action
We use the findings to influence local and state policies, professional development, and program funding.
Annual Report Tracks Progress
We share a public report with clear outcomes, next steps, and community impact.
Impact in Action
Because of what we learned through The PULSE, we launched a district-wide mentorship program and restructured our PD offerings to better meet teachers’ needs.

The 2025 Pulse Survey offers a direct look into the lived experiences of Oklahoma educators, school staff, and those working closest to students every day. This annual survey captures real-time insight into classroom conditions, student needs, teacher workload, morale, and the systems supporting—or straining—public education across our state.
The results shared here are grounded in firsthand responses from educators representing a wide range of school settings, grade levels, and communities. Rather than relying on assumptions or national averages, the Pulse Survey centers Oklahoma voices to better understand what is working, where challenges persist, and what supports are most urgently needed.
This year’s data highlights recurring themes around instructional demands, student well-being, resource gaps, and the growing complexity of teaching and learning. At the same time, the results reflect the commitment, resilience, and problem-solving mindset of Oklahoma educators who continue to show up for students despite significant obstacles.
The purpose of The Pulse Survey is not to assign blame or promote a single solution. It is to provide a clear, honest snapshot of the current state of education in Oklahoma so that educators, families, community leaders, and policymakers can engage in informed, solution-oriented conversations. The findings are intended to guide action, support collaboration, and ensure that decisions affecting schools are rooted in the realities of those inside them.
These results serve as a compass—not a verdict—helping us better understand where Oklahoma education stands today and where focused support and collective effort can make the greatest impact moving forward.
