Mrs. Valentine’s Science of Reading is led by longtime educator and curriculum writer Sandra Valentine, whose work is grounded in research-based literacy practices and real-world classroom experience.

With years of experience teaching kindergarten through upper elementary grades, Sandra understands how strong reading skills are built—step by step—through explicit instruction, phonics, decoding, language comprehension, and intentional practice. Her approach reflects the core principles of the Science of Reading while remaining practical, engaging, and accessible for teachers, students, and families.

This program is designed to demystify reading instruction by breaking complex research into clear, usable strategies that work in everyday classrooms. Drawing from her experience writing K–5 curriculum and assessments, Sandra emphasizes foundational skills, systematic instruction, and student confidence—ensuring that reading is taught in a way that is both effective and empowering.
